Five AM Is Too Early To Remember Things

Things like camera cords for uploading photos

or a proper lunch

or pretty much anything other than

a coat for the cold

my wallet

and a quick brush for the teeth to remove the nightly allotment of teeth sweaters.

*gross

This week is five straight days of twelve hour days away from home

that look like some kind of montage of 

leaving around six

tired eyes

bus driving

naps in the car

computer work at the library
errands
more driving
husband shuffling papers and bending metal
and then collapsing at home after six.

It's in these moments that I keep my eyes fixed on the weekend.
When date nights happen.
Like this weekend when we put the kids to bed
popped corn and fizzed root beer floats
then cuddled on to couch to watch Zorro II on the big screen.
It's really such a lovely life.  And I love the quiet moments to remember it.
