I remember one birthday party my sister and I went to when we were still young.
I still can't believe what we took as a gift. . .
the biggest bag with every assortment of candy you can even try to imagine.
I remember joking with our friend's mom
Don't send us the dentist bill.
I literally have the worst sweet tooth in the world.
Most especially chocolate.
And peanut butter.
And when Pinterest -- God bless Pinterest
leaves my heart hopeful over the prospect of homemade versions of my
favorite artery-clogging candies,
I get my bloomin' bum into the kitchen and get started.
No Bake Peanut Butter Bars
{adapted from here}
1 cup butter melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup + 4 tablespoons peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Chocolate Candy Coating
Mix first 5 ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl
Press into a parchment lined pan
{I used a round cake pan}
Melt enough chocolate candy coating to cover the peanut butter mix
Refrigerate until solid
Cut into chunks and literally try not to consume like a mad woman
I love this candy by itself.
I love this candy with fresh strawberries.
I love this candy for breakfast.
I love this candy for lunch.
I love this candy for dinner.
I love this candy for a midnight snack.
I do not love this candy on my hips.
Maybe I need one more piece to round out the edges. . .
Happy Hump Day, Lovelies.
Two more early mornings for me.
Then weeeek- eeend!

Oh how these make me want to rush to the kitchen and get out of my peanut butter! As of this week I'm trying to eat healthy.... this is making it really hard ;)

Haha, I feel like that middle section about loving them for lunch, dinner, etc. has potential as a sweets-lover's riff on Green Eggs & Ham. (I love to taste them on my tongue, but not to see them pad my bum...) They look delicious!
ReplyDeletethat seriously looks so good i could cry.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see pictures like this I WISH I had a bigger sweet tooth.... then again I don't. :)
